
The Civil Line Police have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in a major fraud case. Both suspects were attempting to defraud a bank by depositing a counterfeit check worth Rs 5 crore.
The incident occurred at the Court Road branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Deodhar, Jharkhand. A fake check, purportedly issued by the Satsang Sanstha organization, was deposited at the Railway Road branch of SBI in Muzaffarnagar. The intention was to transfer the funds to the account of DK Enterprises Company located on Bhopa Road, Muzaffarnagar.
However, upon inspection of the check by the bank staff and subsequent communication with the owner of the Satsang organization, it was revealed that no such check had been issued by their organization to DK Enterprises. Realizing that the check was counterfeit, the branch manager of SBI Railway Road Muzaffarnagar promptly filed a complaint with the Civil Lines police station. The police station registered a case, thereby saving the Satsang organization from a potential loss of Rs 5 crore.
Arrest of the Suspects and Their Details
Following a thorough investigation, the authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with the fraud case. The primary suspect, Deepak, a resident of Shivpuri, Railway Station Kotwali Nagar, Hapur, was taken into custody. Currently, he was residing on rent in Ganga Vihar, Bhopa Road, under the jurisdiction of the New Mandi Police Station in Muzaffarnagar.
Additionally, Deepak’s associate, Mohit, a resident of Alok Vihar in Brahmpuri police station area in Meerut, was also apprehended. Mohit was living on rent in the same location as Deepak. Both individuals have been charged and presented with legal documentation outlining the charges against them.
