Two Central Bank of India Officers lost Life in Road Accident in Aligarh
Two officers of the Central Bank of India died in a road accident on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at around 6:30 AM in Ali Nagar under the Gandhi Park police station area in Aligarh. Their car reportedly went out of control, crashed into a roadside tree, and overturned. Both officers died on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Vivek Chandra, Manager of the Central Bank of India’s Harduaganj branch, and Tanya Sharma, Assistant Manager of the bank’s Bannadevi branch. According to reports, Tanya Sharma was driving the car at the time of the accident.

Reports said the two officers had returned to their flat after leaving their workplaces. Their last conversation with family members took place around 7 PM. The accident happened later that night, and the police informed their families the next morning.
Vivek Chandra was 35 years old and a resident of Bharthana in Etawah district. He is survived by his wife and two children. Tanya Sharma was a resident of Dehradun.
The exact cause of the accident is still not known. Police have started an investigation into the incident. Police said the impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle was completely damaged.
