SBI Bank Manager Dies in Road Accident on Agra Lucknow Expressway

A tragic accident occurred late Monday night on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Zahidpur village in Hardoi district. A speeding car, driven by an SBI branch manager, lost control, broke the divider grill, and collided with another car in the opposite lane. The bank manager died on the spot, while five people, including a couple and two children, were injured.

How the Accident Happened

Pramod Kumar Ravi (37), son of Motilal Pandit, was the branch manager of Saraimira GT Road SBI branch in Kannauj district. Originally from East Champaran, Bihar, he had been living in Lucknow with his wife Seema and two children, Mrityunjay and Amrit. On March 31, after completing bank-related work, he was driving home to Lucknow around 10 PM.

Due to drowsiness, he lost control of the car near Zahidpur village. The vehicle broke through the divider and entered the opposite lane, colliding with another car traveling from Lucknow to Agra.

Casualties and Injuries

The accident resulted in Pramod Kumar Ravi’s death, while five occupants of the other car were injured:

  1. Kapil Rahija (30) – Son of Bati Rahija, resident of Faridabad, Haryana
  2. Ruby (42) – Wife of Madhur Sudarshan Singh, resident of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi
  3. Madhur Sudarshan Singh – Ruby’s husband
  4. Ishant (child)
  5. Kavita (child)

The injured were rushed to Auras CHC (Community Health Center). Doctors declared the bank manager dead. Kapil Rahija and Ruby, who were in critical condition, were referred to Lucknow Trauma Center. The other three were discharged after first aid.

Family’s Reaction & Investigation

Pramod’s family members reached Auras police station late at night. He was the second among four brothers, and his father works as a compounder in a government hospital in Bihar.

The victims in the other car were returning from a pilgrimage after visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Ayodhya Ram Temple.

SHO Bhawan Singh Maurya confirmed that the accident site falls under Hardoi district, so the incident report will be filed there.
