In a span of just ten days, yet another daring attempt to rob a bank took place in the Gagaha police station area. The target this time was the Baroda UP Gramin Bank, housed in a modest two-story building at the bustling Karwal Majhgawa intersection. The audacious thieves managed to infiltrate the bank by sneaking through the bathroom window, which surprisingly lacked a protective grill. Breaking the latch, they gained access to the bank’s interior. Fortunately, luck was on the side of the bank, as the thieves left empty-handed.

The discovery of the break-in occurred when the bank’s diligent sweeper arrived on a Saturday morning to begin the day’s cleaning routine. To their dismay, they found the lock inside the bank broken, immediately alerting the bank manager. With a sense of urgency, the bank manager promptly informed the Gagaha police and their superiors about the incident. Responding swiftly, the South Superintendent of Police, along with the Area Officer from Bansgaon and the Gagaha Police Station Incharge, arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.

During their examination, it became apparent that the window through which the thieves entered lacked the necessary grill for security, providing them an easy entry point. Miraculously, the strong room’s lock remained unbroken, preventing the thieves from accessing the bank’s most valuable assets. However, a troubling revelation emerged during the investigation: the sirens, designed to sound off in the event of any adverse circumstances, were either damaged or inoperative. Furthermore, the CCTV cameras, meant to capture any suspicious activity, were mysteriously switched off when the bank closed its doors at 6 pm the previous evening.

The question of why the CCTV cameras were deactivated after the bank’s closure loomed in the air, raising eyebrows and concerns. It became evident that the thieves possessed an intimate knowledge of the bank’s layout and vulnerabilities. Despite being nestled amidst residential dwellings on two floors, the thieves were aware of the window adjacent to the bathroom, devoid of a protective grill or gate, which they skillfully exploited. Unfortunately, due to the cameras being switched off, no footage of the culprits was captured, leaving authorities with limited leads to pursue.
