Punjab & Sind Bank – one of the public sector banks in India, has introduced a new transfer policy for officers. As per the new transfer policy, a new concept of home posting has been introduced for the first time. Now, Officers will choose an area as Home Area and all places within 200 kilometres of that home area will be considered as home posting for officers.

The Bank Employees are protesting strongly against this new concept of home posting. Bank staff and association has demanded bank to remove this criteria.

What is the New Home Posting Concept in Punjab & Sind Bank?

An officer shall designate a branch near to his/her domicile place, as home branch. This designated branch shall be considered as the officer’s home branch and any posting within a 200 km radius from this branch shall be regarded as a homo area posting. An officer shall be allowed to redesignate this branch on the following two conditions only:

  • Change of domicile of the officer
  • Opening of a new branch nearby to his place of domicile provided no other branch was present within a 2OO km radius from his place of domicile prior to the opening of this new branch.

Bank shall try to accommodate officials in their home area as far as possible subject to the availability of vacancy. However same cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
