Punjab and Sind Bank Emerges Victorious in Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament

Punjab and Sind Bank (PSB) emerged victorious in the 5th edition of the Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament after a tough match against the Indian Air Force (IAF). The final score was 12-11 in favor of PSB in a penalty shootout. The tournament, which commenced on April 25, concluded on Tuesday.
The winning PSB team was honored in the presence of Air Chief Marshal Vivek R Chaudhari at the 3BRD, Air Force Station in Chandigarh. ACM Chaudhari, the Chief of Air Staff, formally declared the tournament closed.
During the closing ceremony, ACM Chaudhari commended the finalists and prize winners and expressed his appreciation for the high level of skill and playing standards demonstrated by all the participating teams.
A total of 12 teams, including those from the air forces of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, took part in the tournament. The playing teams consisted of representatives from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, CISF, Punjab Police, Punjab and Sind Bank, Indian Railway, RCF Kapurthala, Chandigarh XI, and State Bank of India.
The title of “Man of the Match” was awarded to Junior Warrant Officer Lovdeep Singh from the IAF, while Rajinder Singh from PSB was named the “Player of the Tournament.”
In addition to celebrating the tournament champions, the closing ceremony also honored notable hockey veterans. Dronacharya awardee AK Bansal, along with Arjuna awardees Prabhjot Singh, Rajpal Singh, and Rani Rampal, were recognized for their significant contributions to the sport.
The closing ceremony was attended by Air Commodore Rajiv Shrivastava, the air officer commanding the 3BRD, and Group Captain Manpreet Singh, the chief administration officer of the 3BRD.
