Allegations of Assault
According to reports, Rehan Lambardar, a resident of Otia village, had taken a loan of ₹36 lakh for setting up a brick kiln and other ventures. However, after the kiln ceased operations, Rehan filed a case with the Sales Tax Department seeking a settlement. The case remains unresolved.
Approximately a week ago, Tiloi Tehsildar Abhishek Yadav, along with a Sangrah Amin and a police team, visited Rehan’s house to recover the outstanding loan. An argument reportedly broke out between the officials and Rehan’s family over the unpaid amount. The situation escalated, with allegations that the team attacked Rehan and his son using sticks, punches, and kicks. Eyewitnesses claim that Rehan’s son was dragged away and forcibly taken in the Tehsildar’s car.
Official Response
After the video surfaced, it sparked outrage among locals and on social media. Responding to the allegations, Tehsildar Abhishek Yadav denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that the incident was being misrepresented, stating, “This is related to rivalry in the Pradhani elections. During the recovery process, the defaulter misbehaved with the team. Some individuals are making and sharing videos with malicious intent. There was no dispute.”
Villagers Demand Justice
The incident has left the villagers furious, with many labeling the administration’s actions as “atrocious.” Residents are demanding an impartial investigation into the matter and strict action against those responsible.
Local authorities have yet to announce any formal inquiry, but the incident has intensified debates about the methods used for loan recovery and the accountability of officials involved.
