Job scams are increasing in India as the unemployment rate reaches its peak and people are desperately seeking employment opportunities. Unfortunately, some fraudsters are exploiting this situation by taking money from job seekers in exchange for promises of employment. Numerous cases of such scams are reported daily. Recently, a case surfaced where an individual accepted money from job seekers under the false pretense of offering a peon position at Punjab National Bank.

Recently, a man named Ajay Kumar from Lalhadi Kalan was targeted in an extortion scam. The person behind this, identified as Pushpendra from Rasulpur, tricked Ajay into giving him Rs 3.5 lakh by promising him a job opportunity. This incident has raised concerns about scams targeting job seekers.

According to Ajay, he has relatives in Bhagwanpur, where Pushpendra’s sister, Ranjana, is married. During a visit, Ranjana told Ajay that her brother Pushpendra had strong political connections and could secure him a job as a peon at Punjab National Bank. Believing these claims, Ajay trusted Pushpendra and even spoke with him directly, which further convinced him.

Convinced of the promise, Ajay gave Pushpendra Rs 3.5 lakh, believing it was needed for the job. But as time passed without any job offer, Ajay started doubting the deal. He confronted Pushpendra for a refund, but Pushpendra avoided the issue and refused to return the money.

Things got worse when Ranjana began threatening Ajay, saying Pushpendra might harm himself if Ajay kept pushing for the money back. This emotional manipulation added to Ajay’s distress.

It turns out Pushpendra had deceived many others using similar tactics, promising jobs in exchange for money. This raised concerns about the scale of the scam and the number of victims.

The police were informed, and a case was filed against Pushpendra for extortion and making false promises of employment. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of his illegal activities.

This incident highlights the importance of being cautious and verifying claims before parting with money or agreeing to job offers. It’s crucial to confirm the credibility of individuals and organizations before entering into any agreements involving significant sums of money.

Punjab National Bank and other banks in India follow a transparent recruitment process through All India Competitive Examinations conducted by IBPS. It’s important for everyone to be aware of this and avoid falling prey to ongoing job scams.
