India received forex inflows of USD 56.846 billion under special USD-INR Forex Swap Facility
According to data reported by Authorised Dealer (AD) Banks up to August 13, 2026, India received total forex inflows of USD 56.846 billion under the facility.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) introduced a special USD-INR Forex Swap Facility on June 8, 2026 to encourage foreign exchange inflows into India. The facility covers three sources of foreign currency: FCNR(B) deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), and Overseas Foreign Currency Bonds (OFCBs).
The position of forex inflows as reported by Authorised Dealer Banks till August 13, 2026 under the above facility is given below:

The special USD-INR Forex Swap Facility is a concessional window introduced by the Reserve Bank of India on June 8, 2026, to attract foreign currency inflows, strengthen India’s balance of payments, and support the rupee. It allows banks and eligible borrowers to swap foreign currency funds (such as NRI deposits and long-term borrowings) into rupees with the RBI while hedging exchange rate risks.
