The Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association has changed its affiliation from AIBOC to AIBOA. This is a big setback for AIBOC. The decision was taken post-merger of the two unions – Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association and Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Adhikari Association. The two unions have merged into one.
Recently, the joint convention was held on October 10, 2026, at Hotel Diamond Palace, Faizabad Road, Lucknow. The convention was jointly chaired by Santosh Tiwari, President of the Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association, and Somendra Singh Tomar, President of the Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Adhikari Association.
During the convention, it was decided to merge both the unions. Following the merger, the name of the unified organisation will remain Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association, with Registration No. 10327. The merged organisation will be affiliated with the All India Gramin Bank Officers Association and the All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA).
With this development, more than 1,000 officers have moved from AIBOC to AIBOA, according to the association. The UP Gramin Bank Officers Association was affiliated with AIBOC, while the UP Gramin Bank Adhikari Association was already affiliated with AIBOA. As the UP Gramin Bank Officers Association has around 1,000 members, approximately 1,000 officers have shifted from AIBOC to AIBOA.
