HDFC Bank has informed its customers about possible issues with the NEFT service on April 1, 2024. They sent an email explaining that NEFT transactions might be delayed or unavailable because of year-end financial procedures.

In a mail to customers, HDFC Bank wrote, “Please note, outward NEFT transactions may get delayed/ may not be available on 1st April 2024 due to financial year-end procedures. We request you to please complete your transaction using IMPS, RTGS, or UPI during this period. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.”

This means that your salary, which usually arrives through NEFT, could also be delayed. To avoid any problems, HDFC Bank suggests using alternative transaction methods like Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on April 1.

The bank wants to make sure that your financial transactions go smoothly during these year-end procedures. If you need any help with money transfers on April 1, you can contact HDFC Bank’s customer support at 1800-1600 or 1800-2600.

Branch Closures and Exceptions

Please note that not all bank branches will be open on April 1 because of year-end account closures. However, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s guidelines, banks in Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya will continue their operations as usual.

No exchange of Rs 2000 note

RBI has also said that the exchange and deposit of the Rs 2,000 notes will not be available on Monday, April 1. “The facility of exchange/deposit of Rs 2000 banknotes will not be available on Monday, April 01, 2024, at the 19 Issue Offices1 of the Reserve Bank of India due to operations associated with the Annual Closing of Accounts. The facility will resume on Tuesday, April 02, 2024,” RBI said in a notification issued on March 28, 2024.
