ICICI Bank Deputy Manager beaten badly, Police starts investigation

Abhinav Kumar, a Deputy Manager at ICICI Bank in Gurugram, was assaulted by his friends near Mashakchak around 3:25 PM on Friday, allegedly due to an incident that occurred during a cricket match five years ago. He had just visited his nephew in the ICU and was on his way back when his friends stopped him and took him to a nearby tea shop.

Things took a violent turn as they closed the shop’s shutter and subjected Abhinav to a physical attack. They even went as far as attempting to harm him further by pulling out his nails and hair and making him lick his spit. Despite the ordeal, Abhinav managed to reach his home in Sarai and informed his family about the incident. Later, he and his father went to the Adampur police station around 8 PM.

Prompt action by the police led to the arrest of the two assailants. Abhinav received medical treatment at Sadar Hospital around 11:30 PM, where doctors advised X-rays and CT scans due to swelling in several parts of his body. He sustained significant injuries to his left hand, leg, and head. As investigations continue, the police are actively looking into the matter.
