Head Constable posted in Bank of Baroda commits suicide

In a tragic incident that occurred in Poonia Colony of Sadar police station area in Churu district, a head constable named Sitaram Saharan took his own life by hanging himself at his home. This unfortunate event has left the community in shock and raises concerns about mental health and well-being.

Head Constable Sitaram Saharan had been posted as a guard in-charge at the Bank of Baroda. His mental state had been severely affected after a road accident in 2007, causing him distress and anguish. On the day of the incident, Sunday evening, family members were present at home when Sitaram went to a room outside the house and ended his life by hanging himself.

Investigation and Suicide Note

Upon discovering the tragedy, family members immediately informed the police, who arrived at the scene. A suicide note was found near the deceased head constable, wherein Sitaram Saharan expressed his exhaustion with injustice and requested the police department to perform his last rites in his village. The note did not contain any further details regarding the reasons behind his extreme step.

Ongoing Police Investigation

As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have discovered numbers written on both hands of the deceased. These numbers have raised the curiosity of the authorities, who are diligently looking into their significance. At this point, it is too early to determine the meaning behind these numbers and their connection to the incident.

Profile of Head Constable Sitaram Saharan

Sitaram Saharan, a 47-year-old head constable, had been serving in the Rajasthan Police since 1997. He was promoted in 2015 and had previously worked as a traffic in-charge in Rajgarh for seven months. Additionally, he had spent seven years posted in the police line. Sitaram Saharan is survived by a son, who is pursuing an LLB degree in Delhi, and a daughter who is preparing for the NEET examination. The family resides in Poonia Colony and had recently built a house there.
