On Tuesday, Canara Bank announced a new appointment to its board. The government has nominated Rohit Das as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) nominee director, replacing R Kesavan. This change took effect immediately as per the notification dated August 5, 2024.
Rohit Das’s Extensive Experience
Rohit Das brings around 26 years of rich experience to the table. Throughout his career, he has worked in various departments at the RBI’s Central Office in Mumbai. These include the Risk Department, the Department of External Investments and Operations, and the Department of Supervision.
Supervisory Roles
During his time in supervision, Das held a dual role as the senior supervisory manager for both the Kotak Group and the IDFC Group. His extensive background in these areas positions him well to contribute significantly to Canara Bank’s board.
