Google is investigating reports of data loss affecting a limited number of Google Drive users. The issue appears to be linked to syncing errors in Google Drive desktop versions 84.0.0.0 through 84.0.4.0. Google has advised users not to disconnect their accounts or delete the app data folder while the issue is being investigated.
One user reported experiencing data loss dating back to May despite attempts by Google’s support team to restore their data.
In a separate development, Google Drive for Android has received a significant redesign, including a revamped document scanning interface with enhanced features. The new interface features an “Auto capture” mode that automatically captures documents when everything is aligned, making scanning more convenient.
