A woman and a man posing as SBI Bank officials and employees withdrew Rs 8 lakh from the bank account of a 59-year-old middle-aged man from Khairthal. The victim has registered a case in Khairthal police station.
Sucha Singh, son of Mela Singh Raisikh, resident of village Dantla of Khairthal area, told in the report that on February 8 at 12 noon, a boy and a girl came to his house posing as representatives of SBI Bank. They told to activate mobile number for the customer. For this, they had taken a copy of Aadhar card and pass book from Sucha Singh. After this, they came again on 9 February and made him sign a blank paper and took it away.
He came to know that he had been defrauded when he went to withdraw Rs 2,000 from his bank account. There the bank representative told that he had only Rs 108 in his account. There was a transaction to withdraw Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh 30 thousand from his account on 9 February 2024. Whereas on February 10, there was a transaction to withdraw Rs 76 thousand, Rs 50 thousand and Rs 3.50 lakh. A total of Rs 8.06 lakh was withdrawn from his account. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
