An FIR has been filed against Central Bank of India Manager and his Wife related to embezzlement of funds from accounts of customers in Salempur, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh.
As per complaint, 23 lakh 9 thousand rupees were embezzled from the customer service center of Central Bank of India. On the orders of the court, an FIR has been registered against six people, including the bank’s former branch manager, Amit Kumar Rakesh, and his wife, Ekta Kumari.
Ganesh Chaurasia of the Lar police station stated that he had been running a customer service centre for the Central Bank of India in Salempur since 2012. In August 2020, the then branch manager, Amit Kumar Rakesh, gave him space in the bank premises. It is alleged that customers’ money was embezzled by transferring it to various accounts between August 17, 2020, and April 2023. Ganesh Chaurasia spoke to the branch manager upon complaint, but was dismissed citing a server glitch.
