Employees working for a private company that manages rental accommodation in Kondapur have been accused of changing the company’s payment QR code and diverting Rs.4.15 crore into their personal accounts. The complaint was filed by Istara Parks Pvt Ltd, the company that operates the rental housing service known as ‘Coliving Properties’ for single employees.
According to the Cyberabad economic offences wing (EOW) police, the company collects rent payments from customers through online payment QR codes, which are then directly deposited into the company’s bank account. However, fifteen employees of the company encouraged customers to deposit the funds into their personal accounts instead.
Over a period of several months, the employees managed to divert Rs.4.15 crore into their own accounts, as revealed during an internal audit conducted by the company. Subsequently, the management filed a complaint with the EOW police, seeking action against the employees involved in the fraud.
EOW DCP K. Prasad stated that the case is currently under investigation, and the accused individuals will be arrested soon.
In a separate incident, the Sircilla police arrested three individuals for fraudulently collecting money from people by making false promises of providing them with employment opportunities in the Gulf. The accused individuals were identified as Mohammad Mahabub from Sarampelli, Thangallapally mandal; Bondu Anjaiah from Rudrangi mandal; and Gurugalla Laxman from Narmala in Gambiraopet mandal.
After collecting money from the victims, the accused individuals provided them with counterfeit passports and job documents. The raids were conducted by Chandrasekhar at various locations in Rajanna Sircilla district.
The Superintendent of Police, Akhil Mahajan, urged young individuals to be cautious and only approach licensed agencies and agents for employment opportunities. In case they are deceived by fake agents, they should immediately report the matter to the authorities.
