An elderly farmer has alleged that a fake loan of ₹2.78 lakh was fraudulently taken out in his name using forged documents. The victim, Rajju Prasad Pandey, has accused the former branch manager and a bank friend (Bank Mitra) of working together to commit this fraud and misuse his land records.

What Happened in the Case?

The incident took place at Aryavart Gramin Bank in Fatehganj, Banda district. The victim, Rajju Prasad Pandey, originally from Barcha Dadhiya village, is currently staying in Satna. He said that he came to know about the fraud when he received a message on his mobile phone about a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan taken on 24 February 2025.

How the Fraud Was Committed

According to Rajju, someone used his Khatauni (land ownership record) to take a loan under the KCC scheme. But the loan documents were prepared in the name of Rajwa Prasad Yadav, a different person with a similar father’s name. This made the fraud difficult to detect at first. Rajju believes the former bank manager and Bank Mitra took advantage of the name similarity to get the loan approved.

Discovery During KYC Process

Rajju found out about the fraud when he visited the bank branch for his KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. During this visit, he was shocked to learn that his land had been mortgaged without his permission. He immediately complained to the bank officials, and the then branch manager promised to fix the issue. However, even after three months, no action was taken.

Victim Issues Warning to Bank

Feeling helpless and frustrated, Rajju wrote a letter to the General Manager of Aryavart Gramin Bank, demanding strict action against those responsible. He warned that if a case is not filed and his money is not returned within a week, he will be forced to take extreme steps, including suicide.

Bank’s Response

The current branch manager said that this case is from before his time at the branch and claimed he has no information about the matter. Meanwhile, the farmer continues to demand justice.
