Gorakhpur: In a significant development, the police at Sinduria police station have registered a case against two individuals, including the branch manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Sinduria. This action was taken following the orders of the Additional District Judge II, and the charges include assault and offenses under the SC/ST Act.
Background of the Case
The case was initiated by Ramdhari, a resident of Nandabhar, who took his grievance to the court of the Additional District Judge. Ramdhari recounted that he had an account with the SBI branch in Sinduria. Unfortunately, he lost his bank passbook somewhere in the Sinduria market. Acting responsibly, he reported the loss on the portal of the State Crime Records Bureau, Lucknow, and kept a copy of the report for his records.
Along with this report, Ramdhari visited the Sinduria branch of SBI, hoping to have a new passbook issued. However, things took an unexpected turn when he presented the report to the branch manager and an employee. According to Ramdhari, instead of assisting him, the manager became enraged and verbally abused him, using derogatory caste-based language.
The Altercation and Threats
The situation escalated further when the branch manager allegedly asked the security guard to remove Ramdhari out of bank. He was warned that if he dared to return to the bank to request a new passbook, he would be killed. Disturbed by the threats, Ramdhari reported the incident to the local police, but he claimed that no action was taken at that time.
Court Intervention and Legal Action
Given the lack of response from the police, Ramdhari sought justice through the court. The Additional District Judge II reviewed the case and ordered the registration of an FIR (First Information Report) against the branch manager and another person involved in the incident. The charges include assault and violations under the SC/ST Act.
SHO Dinesh Kumar of Sinduria police station confirmed that, following the court’s orders, a case has been registered against the two individuals. He also mentioned that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the full details of the incident.
Conclusion
This incident highlights the importance of legal intervention in ensuring justice when local authorities fail to act. The court’s decision to order an FIR against the bank officials underscores the seriousness of the allegations and the need for a fair investigation. The outcome of this case will likely have significant implications for the involved parties and the local community.
