A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Lucknow conducted a raid on a bank and apprehended the manager for allegedly soliciting a bribe under the pretext of facilitating a farmer credit card. The arrival of the CBI officials at the bank caused a significant commotion. The CBI team proceeded to conduct a comprehensive investigation within the bank premises, a process that lasted for six hours.
Reports indicate that Manoj Rajput, a farmer from Bijauri village in the Azanar police station area, had applied for a farmer credit card at Aryavart Bank in the town six months prior. Initially, the bank manager had rejected the application. Subsequently, the farmer resubmitted the application.
The farmer alleges that Branch Manager Vaibhav Khare demanded a bribe of ten thousand rupees, which was later negotiated down to six thousand rupees. Based on the farmer’s complaint lodged at the CBI office in Lucknow, the raid was initiated. The investigation persisted within the bank premises until eight o’clock in the evening, with the CBI team, the affected farmer, and the bank manager all present.
