Burglars broke into the home of a bank officer in Mirzajanhat, near Babarganj police station in Narnaul, Haryana, stealing cash amounting to one lakh rupees and gold-silver jewelry worth seven lakh rupees.
The incident occurred late on the night of November 27th. The burglary was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the house. The footage shows two burglars breaking the lock, entering the house, and carrying out the theft.
The police in Babarganj have received the footage but have not made any arrests or conducted inquiries with people in the vicinity so far.
Investigating officer Vishal Kumar mentioned that an investigation into the matter is underway. Vinayak Pratap, posted as a recovery officer at the Bank of India, had gone to Patna with his family for his younger sister’s wedding on November 27th.
Concerned about the possibility of a theft at home, he remained connected to the CCTV through his mobile until 1 AM. Everything seemed fine until then. When he checked again at 3 AM, he found the gate of the hall grill open.
Vinayak contacted a neighbor to check, who confirmed that the lock was not in place. They rushed back to Bhagalpur. Upon reaching home, they discovered that all the jewelry and cash were missing.
Even the money from the idol of God, the daughter’s piggy bank, and other places were taken. The CCTV footage shows the two burglars coming and going on foot between 11:30 PM and midnight. When the entire area became quiet, they broke the gate lock and carried out the theft.
One burglar wore a blue denim jacket and a cap of the same color, while the other wore a black jacket and a slate-colored cap. Both had scarves around their necks – one orange and the other a muffler. They had screwdrivers and were seen checking the dressing table by opening screws.
They did not wear masks or make any attempt to hide their faces. Despite this evidence, the police have not taken concrete steps towards apprehending the burglars.
