Muzaffarpur: Bank retirees had put forward some demands to the bank management. As the management did not pay attention to their demands, the Bank retirees held protest against the management in front of bank headquarters.
On Tuesday, a demonstration program by bank representatives from 18 districts in support of their demands was held in front of the bank’s headquarters. The forum had announced a hunger strike due to the management’s refusal to grant computer increments to retirees from the year 2018.
However, during the demonstration, the management engaged in discussions with employee union representatives. After a lengthy discussion, a positive agreement was reached on granting computer increments to retirees from April 1, 2018, during a meeting called by the directorate before March 15. The meeting included bank president Sohail Ahmad, chief manager D.N. Pandey, general manager Subodh Kumar, and deputy managers from the Retirees Union, such as N.K. Dixit, Vinod Sharan, Shailesh Pandey, and Amaresh Kumar. After negotiations with management, the Bank Retirees Forum has suspended the strike as of now.
