Bank of Baroda (BoB), a government-owned bank, has recently announced its collaboration with the Delhi Metro for station branding. BoB has acquired the co-branding rights for three Delhi Metro stations: Inderlok, South Extension, and Rajouri Garden. These rights have been granted by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for a period of 10 years, starting in 2024.

As part of this collaboration, Bank of Baroda will have its branding displayed at these stations. They will also be able to showcase their products and services in dedicated spaces. Additionally, Bank of Baroda will install an ATM/Digital Banking Unit (DBU)/kiosk at these stations to serve customers.

The executive director of Bank of Baroda, Ajay K Khurana, inaugurated the new station branding at Inderlok Metro station. The Delhi Metro is the largest and busiest metro rail system in India, with a daily ridership of over 60 lakh.

Co-branding allows Bank of Baroda to associate its name with the licensed metro stations. This agreement is valid for 10 years, with a 2-year lock-in period after an initial fitment period of 120 days. Any advertising or co-branding spaces proposed by Bank of Baroda at these metro stations will require prior approval from the DMRC to ensure operational feasibility, aesthetics, and safety.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ajay K Khurana, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda said, “The Delhi Metro is a crucial lifeline for millions of commuters every day and we are pleased to have won the co-branding rights for three prominent stations. Bank of Baroda’s New Delhi Zone is of strategic importance to the Bank and, similar to the Delhi Metro, its operations extend beyond Delhi, encompassing Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad as well. Our collaboration with Delhi Metro will go a long way in enhancing the Bank’s brand visibility & recall and deepening our engagement with citizens of the National Capital Region (NCR).” The details of this partnership are available on the official website of Bank of Baroda.

The DMRC plans to expand co-branding opportunities to include 165 stations across nine lines of the Delhi Metro. Notable stations like New Delhi, Kashmere Gate, Nehru Place, Ashram, Vasant Vihar, Khan Market, Hauz Khas, Janpath, Dilli Haat, Greater Kailash, and RK Puram have also been made available for co-branding. As of 2023, the DMRC has already awarded branding rights to over 40 stations within its network.
