Agra, Uttar Pradesh: A daring robbery took place on Tuesday night in Agra’s Tajganj area when a scooty-riding assailant snatched the mobile phone of a private bank’s assistant manager. The incident occurred inside the gated Pratik Enclave colony, leaving residents outraged and concerned about the lack of security measures.

The victim, Divya Yadav, daughter of advocate Dayashankar and a resident of Tajnagari Phase-1, was returning home from work around 8:40 p.m. when the robbery took place. Divya, who works at a private bank branch in Sanjay Place, had parked her vehicle inside the colony and was walking towards her house when the attacker struck. The colony, which reportedly lacks a watchman, became the scene of the brazen crime.

According to reports, a scooty-riding miscreant approached Divya, followed by another young man on a bike. The scooty rider swiftly snatched her mobile phone and attempted to flee. However, upon realizing the road ahead was blocked, he turned back. Demonstrating remarkable courage, Divya stood in his way and struck the robber with her bag. Despite causing him to stumble, the thief managed to escape.

Divya also sought help from the biker who had arrived on the scene shortly after the incident, but he left without offering assistance. Police suspect the biker may have been an accomplice in the crime.

Local police were alerted immediately, and officers retrieved CCTV footage from the colony, which captured the face of the scooty rider. The station in-charge inspector confirmed that a case is being registered and that efforts to identify the accused are underway. A police team has been assigned to track down the criminal.

The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities are hopeful of apprehending the culprit soon.
