On December 15, 2024, Vibha Singh, the Chairman of Jharkhand State Co-operative Bank, was honored with the prestigious Outstanding Women Award by Dilip Ghosh, Chairman of the National Co-operative Union, in Goa. This recognition has brought immense pride and joy to the employees of the Jharkhand Co-operative Bank.

In a historic moment, Vibha Singh became the first Chairman in the 75-year history of the bank to receive a national award. Under her leadership, the bank made a remarkable turnaround. When she took charge, the bank was facing a significant loss of Rs 100 crore. However, in just one and a half years, Vibha Singh worked tirelessly to recover the bank from its losses and achieved a profit of Rs 66.68 crore.

The Government of India recognized her efforts with the Outstanding Women Award. Vibha Singh shared that during her tenure, she focused on providing support to farmers by offering agricultural loans at zero percent interest. She also highlighted the benefits extended to the women of Jharkhand through the Mainiya Samman Yojana. To facilitate this, the Co-operative Bank opened accounts with zero balance for women, ensuring they could access financial services without any barriers.

This achievement is a testament to Vibha Singh’s dedication and leadership in transforming the Jharkhand State Co-operative Bank into a more profitable and inclusive institution.
