Several Axis Bank credit card users have reported unauthorised international transactions on their cards, despite having deactivated international usage. These cardholders have experienced unauthorised transactions and have received One-Time Passwords (OTPs) for transactions they did not make, including charges for international transactions. Many affected Axis Bank credit card holders have taken to social media platforms to report the issue.

In response to a customer’s query on a social media platform, Axis Bank stated that they would like to assure their customers that their Axis Bank cards remain safe and that there has been no breach of any systems. They acknowledged the occurrence of a few unauthorised transactions from specific merchants, which they have promptly blocked. The bank assured customers that the amounts involved are small and fully recoverable. Axis Bank encouraged customers to contact them directly if they have any concerns or wish to verify any transactions on their cards. The bank emphasized that they continue to implement robust controls through their advanced transaction monitoring system and transaction reviews.

To address the issue, Axis Bank has requested customers to report any unauthorised transactions promptly. Customers can contact Axis Bank’s credit card customer care or visit the nearest Axis Bank branch. They will need to complete a customer dispute form providing details about the fraudulent transaction.

To avoid customer liability, it is crucial for cardholders to block their cards within three working days of the first fraudulent transaction. If a card is blocked between four to seven days, the liability may amount to a maximum of Rs 25,000. However, if the card is blocked beyond seven days, the full liability falls on the cardholder.

Axis Bank is taking this matter seriously and is working to resolve the issue and ensure the security of its customers’ credit card transactions. In case of any issues, contact Axis Bank customer care at 1860 419 5555 & 1860 500 5555.
