A letter is going viral on social media. The letter has been written against misconduct by SBI DGM at Panchkula.

A group of employees at the Administrative Office (AO), Panchkula, State Bank of India (SBI), has submitted a serious complaint to the SBI Officers’ Association, Local Head Office, Chandigarh, alleging harassment and abuse by the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Business & Operations, Mr. Rohit S. Kashalkar.

In a written complaint dated June 24, 2025, the staff accused the DGM of repeatedly using abusive, threatening, and insulting language toward employees, including senior officers such as AGMs and Chief Managers. The staff members claimed that Mr. Kashalkar regularly shouted at and humiliated staff, creating a toxic and unsafe work environment.

Verbal Abuse and Threats Highlighted

The letter said that DGM used several derogatory words such as:

  • “उठा के पटक दूँगा” (I’ll slam you down)
  • “सारा का सारा AO स्टाफ एडा है” (All AO staff is useless)
  • “गर्दन से पकड़ के लाओ” (Drag them in by the neck)
  • “तुम सब कचरे हो” (You all are trash)
  • “Get out of my cabin”

Employees also mentioned that the DGM asked one officer to forcibly remove another officer of the same rank from his cabin. The staff reported that this constant abuse had deeply affected their mental health, with some even experiencing suicidal thoughts.

The DGM allegedly made repeated comments like, “बैंक ने मेरी ट्रांसफर चॉइस पर नहीं की, जीने तो मैं तुमको भी नहीं दूँगा”, which they said was meant to create fear and panic among employees. The complaint stated that such behavior had severely impacted the dignity, morale, and smooth functioning of the office.

Staff Demand Action

All staff members signed the complaint and requested the Officers’ Association to take the matter to higher authorities. They have urged that necessary action be taken to restore a respectful and professional work environment at the Panchkula office.

The issue highlights growing concerns about workplace harassment in government and banking institutions, with employees calling for accountability at all levels of management.

  1. Arey, why all this. Treat him the same way. How long will you depend on others. Use the same language and words against him. Tit for tat. Kya kar lega woh transfer, karne dena… Promotion me taang adayega kya, self respect jaane ke baad kya transfer…

These kind of fellows don’t deserve respect show him his place… Just like a mirror and record in your mobiles both audio and video.. Ise logonko aaplog hi kaafi hai…

Act my dears, don’t ask for help… Just act.. Each one of you is a hero in the eyes of your kids and wife, then show your heroism.. I am not provoking, it is like this everywhere, no one will take action other than YOU…

    Rise now.

  2. Jo log aise galiwaj ko itni high post pr bithate h un ke against bhi action hona chahiye. Lower staff kya gali sun ne ke liye hota h.

  3. Dgm sbi is right…how much concern staff getting salary … Average wages 100k plus persequetes..
Average Citizen labour getting 10k pm
    Why ignoring duties in Bank..
It is not labours work…just plus minus in computer..
Better replace entire such staff..who is not giving results…put them in central pool..

    1. You are right, sir. DGMs also face immense pressure in the bank. If they fail to achieve their targets, they may face criticism from GMs and EDs. In SBI, even the average salary of a clerk with 5 years of experience is above ₹1 lakh. Staffs are under pressure because the bank expects them to tolerate such mental stress, insult, sacrifice work life balance in exchange for higher salaries. Let us support DGM Rohit sir in achieving his targets and securing a promotion to GM.

    2. Why r u not join the bank and see the reality. Which goverment office is better than bank? Any government office would not work without levy some extra for correct a word in any document.

  4. What do you expect from the DGM? A Marathi posted in Chandigarh. He is 1600 KMs away from home. There’s frustration at the level of work he does and on top of that, the people he works with on daily basis all go back to their parents, wives, kids at the end of the day and he is deprived of his family.
He lost his cool which is unprofessional and unbecoming of an officer. He should be severely punished. And a harsher treatment should be meted out to the person who issued the order to post a marathi as DGM in a Punjabi speaking belt.

  5. Salae ko social boycott kharo, maintain 10am to 5.15pm, non-cooperation on one day flash pen down strike for one hour, lunch hour Mae slogans and demonstrations kharo aur evening @5.30pm kho jhorsae demonstrations kharo aur slogans & demonstration dgm kae khilaff devho
Fight for your self respect & self esteem
In the past no executive of the bank spoke so derogatory bcoz all the staff & officers were united and strengthened staff unnions and officers association. Now when a strike call is given the success rate is 50 :50 but in the past 100% success all members used to participate in full strength 💪
Now the present generations in the bank are scattered if any call is given the question raised is married kho Kiya miltha
So UNITED YOU WILL WIN DIVIDED YOU WILL FALL
