Sandeep Bakhshi reappointed as CEO of ICICI Bank
ICICI Bank has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to reappoint Sandeep Bakhshi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for another two years. According to the bank, Bakhshi will continue as the CEO of ICICI Bank till October 3, 2028. His new term will begin from October 4, 2026.
In January, the bank’s board had approved Bakhshi’s reappointment, subject to approval from the RBI. ICICI Bank is India’s second-largest private sector bank by market capitalisation. Sandeep Bakhshi has been leading the bank since 2018.

Sandeep Bakhshi (born 28 May 1960) is an Indian banker, and the MD & CEO, ICICI Bank since October 2018.
Bakhshi earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, and has a postgraduate degree in management from XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur.
Bakhshi, an employee of ICICI since 1986, was appointed as MD & CEO in October 2018. Prior to this, he was the managing director and CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance from August 2010 to June 2018 and MD and CEO for ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company in April 2002.
