Rs.15 crore fraud in Punjab National Bank, Manager files case against Cashier

A report has been filed against a bank cashier at the Shivala Kalan branch of Punjab National Bank for misappropriation of crores of rupees in the accounts of farmers. The branch manager has filed a case accusing the cashier of embezzling two crore 83 lakh rupees, while the farmers have alleged a fraud of 15 crores.

Ten days ago, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) staged a sit-in protest at the Punjab National Bank Shivala Kalan branch. During the protest, Noorpur block president Uttam Kumar alleged that bank officials and employees fraudulently withdrew more than 15 crore rupees from the accounts of farmers two months ago. Despite the complaint, the money has not been recovered yet.

In response to the agitation, Deputy District Officer Vijay Shankar Singh SDM assured that an investigation would be conducted by a committee, and the money would be recovered by June 10. In light of this, the bank manager, Bajrangi Lal, has filed a complaint against the branch cashier, Kamil Hussain, accusing him of embezzling two crore 83 lakh rupees from the bank holders through fraud and cheating. The complaint has been registered at the Shivala Kalan police station.
