PNB Bank union writes letter to PM Modi to introduce five day banking

The demand for a five-day week banking system in India has gained momentum, with the All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Federation writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce this change for Public Sector Banks. Bankers across India have expressed their desire for a five-day work week in order to improve their work-life balance. Currently, bankers in India work under high stress and believe that a five-day week would alleviate some of the pressures they face.

Public Sector Banks, owned by the Government of India, are currently closed only on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, while organizations such as LIC, other insurance companies, RBI, and other government departments operate on a five-day week schedule. Bankers, therefore, argue that it is essential for the provisions of the Bipartite Settlement, which is pending implementation this year, to include the declaration of a five-day week.

Public Sector Banks play a significant role in the government’s ambition of achieving high economic growth and financial inclusion. They are responsible for implementing the majority of social security schemes launched by the government, and have demonstrated high profits and good results in previous quarters. The demand for a five-day week in banking is seen as a genuine need that would greatly improve the work-life balance of employees.

Furthermore, as other countries are already experimenting with four-day working weeks in offices, it is believed that it is high time for India to implement a five-day week in banking. This move would not only enhance the work-life balance of employees, but also increase the adoption of digital financial services, aligning with the government’s vision of a digital India.

Indian John Cena ur comments are contain lots of inner frustration bro🤣

    • Bro working in banking is more toxic then your bpo job
And even if you write a letter for 7 days open . It will straight go to trash just like your respect

    • They work hard and deserve it, coustomer gadhe hai. I left my private job and joined bank and the job Is indeed stressful for the salary recieved. I left and joined back my private job. I agree with five day week. Bank walo ko gali Dene ki bajaye police walo ke de ke dekha tumhara pichwara lal karainge.

  2. Yes, all other state and centre department are 5 days working. Bankers done very well during COVID, note bandi, opening zero balance account. Bankers officers are working upto late nights. When other parallel channels are there, there should be 5 days banking

  3. Cente and state department working on 5 days. Bankers have done good job during covid, note bandi, implementation of govt
Schemes. There are other parallel channels. Bankers working till late nights. There should be 5 days working

  4. No, 5 Day week is not at all required for Banks. The service of all the Govt Banks is pathetic to its customers. They do not maintain a systematic record nor possess work knowledge of their own work folio. Ex Canara Bank, Matunga East, Mumbai Branch.

Most of the services are digital, salary hike keeps happening then why is this 5 Day week required?

  5. I have a bad experience with this Canara Bank, Matunga East, Mumbai Branch.

Branch Manager is absent all the time you visit the Branch, lunch breaks are chitchatting breaks, staff doesn’t bother to address the customers. The Staff does a buck passing job. [Passing the parcel).

Do not allow a Five Day week for the Banking Sector as the condition would worsen from what it is now.

  8. Jo customer yaha psb banks se dukhi hai unn gadho ko private bank me jald se jald account khol kr psb ka account band kr lena chahiye

  9. Real bankers are in huge pressure those who say they are not working then what about other dept ex patwari sdm income tax nagar nigam yaha jab ye aapko bithaye rakte hai tub aapki himmat nai hoti inse kuch kahne ki bol dete hai kal aana. Bankers r soft target

  10. Jab TK Bharat viksit Desh ki shreni me nahi aa jata , Japan ki tarah 7days working kr Dena chahiye , aur inn logo ne likha hai ki 90PC transaction online ya other modes se ho Rahi hai, fir inn logo ki jarurat hi khatam ho jayegi ek din

  11. Bankars are facing huge work pressure from public as well as management so 5 day week should happen as soon as possible .

  12. It is all because of fi in since 2014
The customer base of psb has shot up like hell , but staff strenght has decresead
Significantly , due to which customer service has been hampered , also work life balance of existing staff is miserable
Front desk is operating with 50 portals and day by day in lieu of digitization ,
    Operations have become pathetic

  13. Even I am going to write a letter why only bankers need stress free life 2 days holiday atleast they have 2 and 4 Saturday off we poor people working in private companies no holiday less income more traveling and upon that no rest only sunday holiday no time for any other work government should take strict action against the pvt firms and look at the timings also we work almost 10 hrs and 4 hrs of travelling where’s the time to spend with our family why won’t Indian get a permanent fix holiday for everyone in our country pls 🙏have to take some serious decision to all employees those who are working in pvt company even we pay tax government should won’t ignore us

  14. No acceptance of 5 day week working for work life balance 24×7 assistance is required more staff to add 4 smooth & viksit bharat
Not feeling ashamed of asking reduced working timings whereas pvt organisations are working unlimited

    • Govt of India must not only consider 5 days a week for banking but also for all pvt company and other working sector as well .yes bankers should be given rewards for the every successful implementation for govt schemes.

  15. Then doctors also need same privileges.
10-5 job, second sat holiday, all public holidays, salary strike permitted, free 30 lts petrol, interest free home, car loan…… Y ask for 5 work days…. Rather ask for work free salary😆.

Your pressure is due to poor software and server issues, improper decision in granting loans, over expenditure on furnishings….
