An executive meeting was held by All Punjab Gramin Bank Officers Association at Indraprastha Hotel on Saturday. In which the issue of excessive pressure on the staff by the bank management regarding core and non-core parameters was discussed.
Excessive review meetings by the management, clarification calls being issued on every other parameter. Due to which the bank staff is going through immense mental stress. Various issues were discussed in the meeting.
It was decided to stage a protest outside the main office, Kapurthala, on 16th November. Apart from this, the House also decided that the paddy harvesting season should be used for recovery of bad loans and raising deposits. The misuse of employees’ time and energy on mBanking, cross selling of third party insurance products was also discussed in the meeting.
According to SK Mitra Committee, adequate recruitment of employees, classification of branches recommendations, rationalization of lending powers, inclusion of suggestions of the association in transfer policy of the bank, compulsory leave, sabbatical leave, casual leave of branch managers, harassment in WhatsApp group.
Many legitimate and genuine demands of the association are pending at the bank level. The House unanimously decided to run agitational programs ranging from wearing black badges to ‘No to Verbal Banking’ and ‘Work to Rule’.
