Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approves creation of 46,491 New jobs in Health Sector

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet met for the first time since the Lok Sabha polls and approved the creation of 46,491 new posts in the health sector. These posts can be filled on a regular, contractual, or outsourced basis. Out of these, 18,653 posts will be filled in the next three financial years, with an annual recurring expenditure of ₹343.29 crore. The remaining 27,838 posts will be filled through the National Health Mission, as has been done previously. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya shared this information with reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

Under the Public Health and Medical Education Department, the Cabinet granted permission to fill 607 posts out of the total 1,214 vacant posts in seven specialties. These specialties include anaesthesiologist, medical specialist, gynaecologist, paediatrician, radiologist, orthopaedist, and surgery specialist. The Cabinet has given permission to advertise these vacant posts through the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission for direct recruitment.

Approval of ₹24,420 Crore Subsidy for Power Consumers

In addition to the creation of new health sector posts, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet also approved a sum of ₹24,420 crore for subsidy to power consumers of various categories. This decision was made following the revision of tariff rates in April 2024. The subsidy amount includes ₹6,000 crore for domestic consumers, ₹13,000 crore for general category farmers, and ₹5,000 crore for SC/ST farmers.

Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State MPs

During the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired the session and the Cabinet congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on assuming office for the third time. The Cabinet also extended its congratulations to the Madhya Pradesh MPs who have been inducted into the Central Cabinet, as well as to the BJP for its victory on all 29 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Among the Madhya Pradesh MPs who have become Ministers in the Union Cabinet are Jyotiraditya Scindia, Virendra Kumar, and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Additionally, two tribal MPs, Savitri Thakur and Durga Das Uikey, have been appointed as Ministers of State in the new NDA government.
