Entities Granted Licenses:
- Grand Mercure Hotel: This five-star hotel is the first to operate in GIFT City.
- GIFT City Club: A premium business club within the GIFT City campus.
Background on Relaxation of Liquor Norms:
Before the Vibrant Gujarat summit on December 22, 2023, the state government had relaxed liquor norms, allowing wine and dine facilities within the GIFT City campus.
Regarding Global CEOs Meeting at GIFT City:
Responding to questions about the closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at GIFT City, where global CEOs participated as part of the Vibrant Gujarat summit, Tapan Ray clarified that liquor was not served. He stated that neither the CEOs requested it nor was it provided to them.
