The Kolhapur District Central Cooperative (KDCC) Bank has introduced a three-year loan scheme offering up to ₹30,000 for individual beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Loan repayments will be partially deducted from the scheme’s monthly installments. For example: The Bank Customer can take Loan from the Bank and the loan EMI will be deducted monthly from the amount credit in her bank account through Ladki Bahin Yojana.

The Ladki Bahin Yojana, an initiative of the Maharashtra government, provides ₹1,500 in monthly financial aid to eligible women, primarily those with family incomes below ₹2.5 lakh. In Kolhapur alone, 1,38,158 women beneficiaries have savings accounts with KDCC Bank, where the scheme’s funds are deposited.

Loan Scheme Details

Announcing the initiative, KDCC Bank Chairman and State Minister Hasan Mushrif stated:

“To protect vulnerable women from exploitative private lenders and microfinance institutions—and to help them start or expand small businesses—we have launched the Tararani Mahila Sakshamikaran Karj Yojana. Each Ladki Bahin beneficiary can avail of a ₹30,000 loan for a tenure of three years. The bank will deduct ₹968 per month from their Yojana funds to recover the loan, which carries an annual interest rate of 10%. KDCC Bank is the first financial institution to introduce such a scheme.”

KDCC Bank’s Performance & Future Plans

The KDCC Bank, a top-performing cooperative bank, registered a gross profit of ₹250 crore for the 2024-25 financial year and holds a capital base of ₹13,364 crore. It plays a crucial role in rural development, providing loans for agriculture, crop production, and other sectors.

Additionally, Mushrif revealed plans to extend financial support to groups of at least five women who are Ladki Bahin scheme beneficiaries and seek funding for small-scale businesses.

“Once they start their ventures, we will also provide an insurance cover of ₹2 lakh to each woman. The premium for this insurance will be entirely funded by the bank,” he added.

Official Approval & Purpose

The scheme was approved on Tuesday at a directors’ meeting, attended by MLC Satej Patil, former MLAs Raju Awale, Sanjaysinha Ghatage, and others.

While the Ladki Bahin Yojana aims to promote women’s self-sufficiency, its financial aid alone is often insufficient. “This is why KDCC Bank introduced the loan scheme,” explained one of the bank’s directors.
