Karnataka confirms to introduce Old Pension Scheme for government employees

Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, speaking at a convention, stated the State government’s commitment to reintroduce the Old Pension Scheme for all government employees.

Replacement of New Pension Scheme

Minister Hebbalkar affirmed that the New Pension Scheme would be replaced by the Old Pension Scheme for government employees hired after 2006, responding to employee demands.

Assurance from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured implementation of the Old Pension Scheme post the Seventh Pay Commission report, promising its realization either before or after the Lok Sabha elections.

Call for Employee Commitment

Minister Hebbalkar emphasized the crucial role of government employees in upholding the government’s reputation through dedicated and honest work.

Unity and Non-partisan Work Environment

She urged employees to avoid engaging in political activities and instead unite to work towards collective development, praising Speaker U.T. Khader for his impartiality.
