A woman has filed a complaint in police that her jewellery is missing from the locker in SBI branch in Swaroop Nagar, Kanpur.
As per complaint, jewelry is worth ₹50 lakh. The victim filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner’s office, accusing the bank manager and employees. The Swaroop Nagar police has registered a case based on the victim’s complaint.
Rashmi Arora, a resident of Kaushalpuri, said that in 2003, she opened a savings account at the State Bank of Travancore branch in Swarup Nagar. The bank allotted her locker number 23, where she had kept jewelry worth approximately ₹50 lakh. After her husband’s death, she moved to her daughter’s home in Lucknow.
About four months ago, when she went to the bank with her daughter, she learned that the State Bank of Travancore had merged with the State Bank of India. Locker charges were being deducted from her account.
On July 27th, when she checked her locker, she found the jewelry missing. She filed a complaint with the Bank Management but did not receive a proper reply. Afterwards, she filed a complaint with the police.
