ICICI Bank, one of India’s leading financial institutions, is currently facing allegations of employee terminations that have caused concern among its workforce. Employees have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the bank’s alleged unethical behavior. Reports suggest that a number of employees, including women, have been dismissed without proper notice or valid reasons.

In April 2024, India’s unemployment rate reached 8.1 percent, adding to the financial burden faced by those who have lost their jobs. Employees who have shared email screenshots claim that the bank has heartlessly pushed them out of their positions, disregarding their pleas and grievances. Additionally, there are allegations that the bank’s Human Resources department is exerting significant pressure on employees, forcing them to resign against their will.

These developments at ICICI Bank have caused widespread outrage and calls for accountability. The bank’s reputation is at stake as the controversy unfolds, while the affected employees strive for justice and a resolution to their concerns. Employees have been forced to resign under the threat of being terminated without receiving a relieving letter or experience letter.

This sudden termination has caused significant hardships for the employees, including financial difficulties, inability to meet basic needs, paying off loans, handling medical emergencies, and covering children’s school fees and care for elderly parents. Despite the efforts to contact HR Management for a proper response, none of the emails or calls have been answered. Tragically, one of the employee from Uttar Pradesh has committed suicide.

Employees report experiencing exploitation, humiliation, and an unsuitable work environment due to biased senior staff who consistently demotivate and belittle junior employees.

The employees are voicing their concerns and calling for justice regarding their job terminations. They are requesting a thorough and fair investigation into the circumstances surrounding their dismissals.

  1. Cant expect such unethical behaviour from one of the biggest Pvt banks in the country. It is always spoken in the market that ICICI means I see I see I…that means im only concerned with myself and see only myself …let all others go to hell is the attitude of the ICICI bank.

  2. Most unprofessional HR in the entire banking industry. Entire senior staff of the bank are either medical reps or from Eureka Forbes with little or no knowledge of banking.

  3. Icici bank has posted its old , experienced staff to far flung areas of the country in south and west from north and east to harass them and force them to resign…..this is torture…..these people have not been given any profiles or jobs for the 4-5 yrs and they do nothing except marking attendance on daily basis……they have not been given any Increment, bonus for the last so many yrs…….some of them have even been posted to kerala rural areas from north India to harass them….this is cruelty, torture….

  4. Not Surprised with this reaction of employees.
ICICI Bank has changed entire recruitment process only of service industry leading into loosing trust on employer by employees this people gives JD of particular profile seeing that candidate applies later interview is taken online and bases that what interviewer feels comfortable that role is offered without any clarity on offer letter and taking reference of past experience of candidate.
    (Summary Of My Experience)
I was interviewed for BM/DBM profile at senior Manager role last year Feb 23 ( Ex-employee code 90028171) that changed to Product Specialist role while joining later in just 4 months changed to Wealth RM without any official communication in writing also way of communication by line managers is very unprofessional and insulting leading to frustration and leaving job to avoid effect on mental and physical health without job in hand.
Still I am without job since Sep 23 and still in follow up with their HR/Management team but they are just not bothered.
    Pathatic experience.
