Government Extends Tenure of Bank of India Executive Director P R Rajagopal

The Central Government has extended the tenure of Shri P R Rajagopal, Executive Director of Bank of India.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on September 15, 2025, his current term, which was set to end on February 28, 2026, has now been extended till his date of superannuation on July 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension has been approved under the powers granted by the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, and is in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Shri Rajagopal will continue to serve as Executive Director of Bank of India during this extended period.
Profile of Shri P R Rajagopal, Executive Director, Bank of India
Shri P R Rajagopal is a Commerce graduate and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (BL). He began his banking career with Bank of India in 1995 as an officer and was promoted to Senior Manager in 2000.
He was deputed to the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) as a Legal Adviser, where he served until 2004 before returning to Bank of India. Later, in 2004, he joined Union Bank of India and rose to the position of General Manager in 2016.
On March 1, 2019, he was appointed as Executive Director of Allahabad Bank. Subsequently, on March 18, 2020, he took charge as Executive Director of Bank of India, a position he continues to hold.
