A female tehsildar in Firozabad has imposed several serious allegations against the Firozabad District Magistrate, including corruption and sexual harassment. These allegations have created a stir in Uttar Pradesh.
Firozabad’s Tundla Tehsildar, Rakhi Sharma, called a press conference at her residence late last night and made allegations against DM Ramesh Ranjan. The female Tehsildar leveled sensational allegations of corruption and exploitation against the DM. She said, “The DM initiated an investigation against me. The Tehsildar said that there are such serious allegations against the DM that she is hesitant to discuss them on camera. She also revealed that land worth crores was distributed among the staff.
She said that she had received an application in July, about nine months earlier, containing allegations of corruption against three officials in her tehsil, including an OSD, a peshkar and a Clerk. She reported the matter to the District Magistrate, but instead of action being taken on the complaint, pressure was put on her to present the inquiry report improperly.
She alleged that after she refused to cooperate, harassment began and continued for nine months. A deliberate inquiry was opened against her, and she was later subjected to adverse official entries without her side being heard. She also said her salary was withheld for eight months and she had to approach the High Court.
The tehsildar alleged that demands were made through the District Magistrate’s OSD for an iPhone and an iWatch. She said she arranged and handed over the phone despite not receiving her salary, and claimed the District Magistrate was using the iPhone she provided.
She also alleged irregularities in the distribution of government land worth crores of rupees, hinting at a major land scam. Alongside the allegations of corruption and harassment, she also questioned her transfer from Tundla to Shikohabad. She said she had not yet received an official transfer order, even though another tehsildar had been sent in her place.
Rakhi Sharma, originally from Agra, has been serving as tehsildar in Tundla since September 4, 2024. She said she filed a complaint against the District Magistrate and submitted a tahrir on March 25, but no action had been taken.
Rakhi Sharma has demanded CM Yogi to take immediate action against the Firozabad DM. The Government should take strict action in the case and the investigation should be done transparently.
