No one desires to fall victim to a toxic workplace culture, but unfortunately, not everyone is fortunate enough to avoid it. In a powerful act of dissatisfaction, an employee who had endured the full force of such toxicity did not hesitate to deliver a resounding message to the organization on their final day at the office. Their impassioned email, directed towards the managers and all those who had contributed to the degradation of the work environment, quickly gained traction after being shared on the ‘Developers India’ subreddit.

The screenshots of the email revealed a story that began with the employee’s pointed observation of the manager’s absence on their last day, prompting them to send the email. The email’s tone was heated and began with the statement, “It was not AT ALL PLEASURABLE for me to work with you,” with select phrases emphasized for maximum effect. The employee went on to express their reluctance to leave on bad terms but attributed their decision to the manager’s dictatorial demeanor, comparing it to a ‘HITLER’s RACE,’ which compelled them to expose everything.

The employee listed several instances where they were unfairly accused of provoking others and recounted numerous occasions of mistreatment during their notice period. These instances included being pressured to stay after team meetings and being purposefully isolated during lunch and other interactions. They left no detail unmentioned, ensuring that each instance of mistreatment was highlighted.

But it wasn’t just a complaint-filled email. It also expressed gratitude towards those who had been supportive and kind. At the same time, it pointedly suggested that the manager should learn from these instances of kindness and support. Furthermore, it shed light on the manager’s disrespectful behavior towards female employees, which further tarnished their leadership abilities.

To conclude, the employee strongly criticized the manager’s suitability for their position. They emphasized their determination to uphold self-respect and dignity despite facing challenges in the workplace, writing, “My backbone is strong enough to hold/stick to the grounds of self-respect/self-esteem, and of course, I cannot tolerate humiliation and mental distress in the workplace. I don’t want to sit at a table where respect is not served.”

Since its circulation, the post has garnered widespread attention, with the public commending the employee’s courage to speak out against toxicity. One user remarked, “Usually people don’t write such things because they might get in trouble in their next job. But damn, this person must have gone through a lot to write all of this and cc everyone. I can’t imagine the manager’s frustration in the next standup call.”
