The Cabinet on Saturday approved a 2 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central government employees.
Dearness Allowance (DA) has been hiked by 2 per cent, taking the total DA from 58 per cent to 60 per cent of basic pay. The calculator is given below. You can calculate the increase in Salary via calculator.
The DA for the central government employees was last revised in October, when it was increased from 55 per cent to 58 per cent.
Dearness Allowance is revised twice a year – once in January and again in July – based on changes in the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW).
The hike will be effective from January 1, 2026, and is expected to benefit about 50.5 lakh employees and 68.3 lakh pensioners. The annual financial implication of the decision is estimated at Rs 6,791 crore.
How much salary will increase?
This will benefit over 1 crore employees and pensioners. For instance, an employee with a basic salary of Rs 30,000 will see an increase of Rs 600 per month following the revision. The calculator is given below.
