The manager of Punjab National Bank’s Kala Amb branch, without informing 64-year-old Jagdish Lal, changed the health policy running in the bank since 2015. Jagdish had claimed under Oriental Bank’s health policy twice before. Jagdish learned about the policy change when he was hospitalized. Due to the bank manager’s negligence, Jagdish suffered a loss of 4.50 lakh rupees.
He has filed a complaint with the police against the current bank manager. In his complaint, Jagdish Lal stated that in 2015, he had taken a health policy at the Kala Amb branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce. He used to renew this policy every January. This time, too, he went to the bank to renew the policy.
According to Jagdish, the current bank manager of Punjab National Bank took his signature on some documents and deducted 21,433 rupees from his bank account. A few days later, Jagdish fell ill and had to be admitted to a private hospital in Panchkula. When he tried to settle the hospital bill with the health policy, he found out that he didn’t have any health policy in force. He explained that he had claimed twice under the old policy, but his claims were not acknowledged. He had to pay the bill from his own pocket.
