The vigilance department team recently arrested the branch manager of Central Bank of India in Kusheshwarsthan while he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe. The branch manager, Guddu Rajak, was apprehended by the vigilance team at a rented accommodation in Satighat market on Wednesday morning. The team then accompanied Rajak to the bank, where they spent over an hour going through the papers.

Background of the Bribery Incident

Guddu Rajak, the branch manager, was found to be accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from Ramanand Yadav, a resident of Hasanpur in Samastipur. Ramanand Yadav runs a volunteer organization and had approached Rajak for a loan under the NABARD sponsored scheme. However, Rajak had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh to facilitate the loan. Unsatisfied with this unethical demand, Yadav reported the incident to the vigilance department.

Surveillance and Arrest Operation

Upon receiving the complaint, the vigilance team promptly headed to Darbhanga on Wednesday morning. Ramanand Yadav then handed over Rs 30,000 to the branch manager as per the scheme. The vigilance team, present at the scene, apprehended Rajak. Following the arrest, the team escorted Rajak to the bank to examine the loan-related records. Subsequently, the team left with the bank manager.
