The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a 2012-batch IPS officer of the Haryana cadre in a bribery case. The officer was posted on central deputation with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in Delhi at the time of the arrest.

According to the CBI, the case was originally registered on 8 June 2026 against a Delhi Police Inspector and two private individuals. During the investigation, the agency found evidence that the IPS officer had allegedly demanded an illegal bribe from private persons.

The CBI alleged that the officer claimed he could use his personal influence to help people get relief in cases related to the sale of counterfeit drugs in Puducherry, which were under investigation by the agency. Investigators believe the officer sought illegal gratification in exchange for providing such assistance.

Earlier in the same case, the CBI had arrested the Delhi Police Inspector along with six other private persons. During those operations, the agency recovered around ₹25 lakh as trap money and ₹90 lakh in cash. The CBI also seized several documents and other materials that it described as incriminating evidence.
