Recently, a shocking case of physical assault on a female bank manager came to light. In a shocking incident, Vandan Verma, the branch manager of Canara Bank in the Gandhi Maidan area of Patna, was assaulted by a contractor over a dispute related to loan. The incident, which occurred on Friday evening, has raised concerns about the safety of bank officials. Watch video below 👇

In the video, it can be seen that the customer was forcing the branch manager to improve his CIBIL score. The customer misbehaved with the female branch manager, threatened her, snatched and damaged her mobile phone. Not only this, he threatened her and said that he was a mighty man with good liaisons with high-ranking officers and he would teach her a lesson.
This incident is unacceptable. This incident has raised serious questions about women’s safety in the workplace. How will the bank staff work if they get threatened by some elements of society? In the video, it can be clearly seen that the customer kept on shouting at her and even did not have manners of how to speak to a lady. We expect the Bank to come on the forefront and personally look into this incident so that the culprit can get punishment.
This incident has brought attention to the growing issues faced by bank employees in dealing with customer grievances, especially in situations involving financial stress. Bank officials have expressed concerns about their safety, urging authorities to implement stricter security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. A few days back, a Customer Assaulted Union Bank Staff Over TDS Issue in Ahmedabad Gujarat.
The banking community and local authorities have condemned the incident, calling for swift justice to ensure that such acts of aggression are met with strict consequences.

Why govt is mum on such issues which is used to happen frequently with bankers? Where is human right commission? Where is Mahila Aayog? Where is Nirmala Sitaraman who usually forces bankers to work day and night? Is govt only focused on getting profits from banking sectors not for the safety of bankers who normally becomes targets by loan defaulters. This is very unfortunate. This govt is tyranny.

The high and mighty can do anything in our country because it is not they who are speaking but their Money power. They think they can get away doing anything because of their pulls and connections with higher authorities. They know that even if they are caught they will get Scot free finally. That’s why they act with impunity.
I think the present dispensation is only hinging on profits at all costs at the altar of safety and security of the working of the staff at branches. The operating staff at banks branches are saddled between theirvtop bosses to increase the lian books on the one hand and also market insurance business. This has led to increased on staff as controllers have become merciless resulting in several branch managers resorting to unethical practices which even though gets recognised will not prompt any action as top bosses are equally culpable. Bank bosses are more concentrated on cross selling businesses rather than core banking activity. All these have resulted in lopsided growth which only time will reveal. Despite the powers that be being aware of the rot within, have been soft-pedalling on the issue. All these have a bearing on the staff manning branches
