In Etah, a bank manager was assaulted while attempting to collect a KCC loan in the Shringar Nagar area of Kotwali Nagar police station jurisdiction. The bank manager has since filed a formal complaint at the Kotwali Nagar police station.
Details of the Incident
Pradeep Kumar, the branch manager of Canara Bank located in Nidhouli Kala, had gone to collect an outstanding credit card loan of ₹6.75 lakh from Shanti Devi, a resident of Shringar Nagar. Accompanied by deputy branch manager Rajnikant Choubey and another bank employee, Kumar arrived at Shanti Devi’s residence on Monday. When they arrived at Shanti Devi’s house and called out, a girl inside responded.
As the door opened, Pradeep Kumar explained that he had come to collect a loan in Shanti Devi’s name. Hearing this, the girl started shouting, attracting many neighbors who then attacked the bank manager. In the sudden assault, Pradeep Kumar and Rajnikant Chaubey were injured. A bank employee who had accompanied them tried to intervene and informed the crowd that they were not thieves or thugs, but bank employees. Only then did the people stop the attack. The injured bank manager and other employees went to the city police station to report the incident and file a complaint.
