Jain can be heard saying, “I don’t have 2 lakh rupees,” while even taking off his shoes. He then sat down calmly in front of the officials, as if in meditation. Jain claimed that his truck, which was carrying iron from Meerut, was stopped by the GST officers, even though he had paid all the required taxes. He said the officers only released the truck after making him pay an unfair fine, which led him to protest in this way.
Jain also said that he didn’t have the bribe money the officials were asking for and told them to send him to jail instead. While Jain was protesting, people in the office recorded the scene, and the video spread quickly on social media. In the video, some people can be heard talking quietly, and a few tried to talk to Jain as he sat peacefully.
The video has sparked a lot of discussions online, with many people questioning the fairness of the GST department and expressing concerns about the mistreatment of taxpayers. One person commented, “People are being harassed like this, but the government says corruption is over.”
