How to block SBI ATM Card by Number, SMS, Mobile App, Online Internet Banking

If you have lost your State Bank of India (SBI) debit card, you should first block it to prevent unauthorized use. Someone could use your card to make withdrawals from your account. You can check your account to see if your card has been used since it was lost.

To block your SBI debit card, you can call SBI customer service at 1800 11 2211 or 1800 425 3800. You can also block your SBI debit card by sending an SMS to 567676. The message should be in the following format:

Finally, you can also block your SBI debit card through internet banking or mobile banking. To do this, you will need to log in to your SBI account and follow the instructions on the website or app.

  • Call SBI customer service:

  • Send an SMS:
    1. Text BLOCK XXXX to 567676, where XXXX are the last four digits of your debit card number.
    2. You will receive a confirmation SMS from SBI.
  • Block your card through internet banking:
    1. Log in to your SBI internet banking account.
    2. Click on the “ATM Card Services” tab.
    3. Click on the “Block ATM Card” link.
    4. Select the account that your debit card is linked to.
    5. Select the debit card that you want to block.
    6. Enter a reason for blocking the card (e.g., lost or stolen).
    7. Click on the “Submit” button.
  • Block your card through mobile banking:
    1. Open the SBI mobile banking app.
    2. Click on the “Services” tab.
    3. Click on the “Debit Card Hotlisting” option.
    4. Select the account that your debit card is linked to.
    5. Select the debit card that you want to block.
    6. Select the reason for blocking the card (e.g., lost or stolen).
    7. Enter the OTP that you received on your registered mobile number.
    8. Click on the “Block” button.

Once you have blocked your SBI debit card, you should keep a record of the blocking date and time. This information may be required if you need to dispute any unauthorized transactions that occur after you have blocked your card.
