In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have apprehended the prime accused in a daring robbery that occurred at an Axis Bank branch in Vaishali, Bihar. The heist, which took place in August, involved a group of nine individuals and resulted in the theft of approximately Rs 1 crore. The apprehended suspect, identified as Mani Kumar, was working as a security guard in Connaught Place at the time of his arrest.

Following the robbery on August 1st, a complaint was filed at the Lalganj Police Station alleging that four armed robbers had forcibly entered the Axis Bank branch and looted approximately Rs 1 crore. Acting on a tip-off received on November 28th, the Delhi Police initiated a search for Mani Kumar, a notorious criminal with a history of involvement in robberies and dacoities. Despite extensive efforts, Kumar remained elusive.

A subsequent lead revealed that Kumar was employed as a security guard at an establishment in Connaught Place. The police promptly narrowed down their search to a newly deployed security guard stationed outside a restaurant on Janpath. Upon verifying his identity as Mani Kumar, the police confronted him. Initially evasive, Kumar eventually confessed to his involvement in the robbery. His interrogation further disclosed that his gang was responsible for orchestrating 18 to 19 bank robberies and dacoities in the past.

The arrest of Mani Kumar marks a significant step forward in the investigation of the Rs 1 crore Axis Bank robbery. The Delhi Police continue to pursue the remaining suspects and are committed to bringing them to justice.
